چکیده

--------------------------------------------------------ABSTRACT-------------------------------------------------Due to depletion of fossil fuel reserves and increasing cost of the petroleum products are the big troubles of today's world .from past to present, tendency of oil price have increased consecutively. Especially, India has deficient amount of fossil fuel .for this reason, India has to import fossil fuel, such as petroleum for domestic demand. In this review our main focus is on finding alternative fuel resources and utilizing them to eliminate their negative effects, become of the limitation of petroleum products. In this context, waste oils are currently receiving renewed interest. The properties of the oils derived from waste plastic pyrolysis oil, used engine oil and waste tire oil were analysed and compared with the petroleum products and found that it has properties similar to that of diesel. This paper gives a brief review about using waste oils of these three types of oils as a fuel for diesel engines. The production processes of each type of waste oils are presented. The results obtained in the comparison of waste purifying oil properties with fresh diesel are discussed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Date of Submission: 02 April 2014 Date of Publication: 15 April 2014 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Waste oils as alternative fuel for diesel engine: A review

Increase in energy demand, stringent emission norms and depletion of oil resources have led the researchers to find alternative fuels for internal combustion engines. On the other hand, waste oils pose a very serious environment challenge because of their disposal problems all over the world. In this context, waste oils are currently receiving renewed interest. The properties of the oil derived...

Influence of Biodiesel from Egyptian Used Cooking Oils on Performance and Emissions of Diesel Engine

Due to diminishing petroleum reserves and the environmental negative effects of exhaust gases from diesel engines, alternative fuels for diesel engines are becoming increasingly important Egyptian waste cooking oils have special specifications because it expose to high temperatures during use for long hours. In the present experimental study, the performance and emissions of a four strokes, sin...

FFA Adsorption from Waste Oils or Non-Edible Oils onto an Anion-Exchange Resin as Alternative Method to Esterification Reaction Prior to Transesterification Reaction for Biodiesel Production

Biodiesel is an alternative source of energy in diesel engines in its neat form or as a blend with conventional diesel fuel. The raw feedstock costs represent a lot of the overall biodiesel production cost. Therefore, the employment of waste oils or non-edible oils (which do not compete with edible oils) as feedstock for biodiesel production are presented as the best alternative. However, the p...

Transesterification of Waste Cooking Oil for Biodiesel Production Using Modified Clinoptilolite Zeolite as a Heterogeneous Catalyst

Reduction of fossil fuels sources, increasing of pollution gases emission, and global warming effects increase the demand of renewable fuels. One of the main candidates of alternative fuels is biodiesel. Biodiesel limits greenhouse gas effects due to the closed CO2 cycle. Biodiesel has more biodegradability, lower combustion emissions such as CO, SOx, HC, PM and lower toxicity than petro diesel...
